Twirl

Twirl is a 70-1/2” x 70-1/2” foundation-pieced kaleidoscope of movement! The pattern features two different versions including Amanda Murphy’s black-and-white Botanica collection used in this kit. Twirl’s dynamic design is sure to please both the modern and traditional quilter…and best of all there are no seams to match! FABRIC: A modern interpretation of the wonders of nature, Amanda Murphy’s Botanica is quite simply stunning. The dynamic prints are beautifully balanced in both scale and value, and the sophisticated monochromatic palette of grey, black, and white will have wide appeal. Use this contemporary collection on its own or in conjunction with colorful basics like Cotton Shot. 100% cotton fabric. Machine wash cold, mild detergent, delicate cycle, do not bleach, tumble dry low, remove promptly. For best results, pre-washing is recommended. The overall finished size of this quilt as shown in picture 1 is 70.5″ x 70.5″. The kit requires a purchased copy of the Twirl pattern (sold separately) and instructions designed by Amanda Murphy of Amanda Murphy Design along with enough fabric to complete the quilt top and edge binding as shown in picture 1. BACKING FABRIC AND BATTING WILL NEED TO BE PURCHASED SEPARATELY. Printed fabrics in this kit are from the Botanica and Cotton Shot collections designed by Amanda Murphy for Benartex. Pictures 2 and 3 show the pattern and all fabrics included in this kit, and pictures 4 thru 10 show larger images of some of these fabrics. Skill Level: Intermediate (foundation paper piecing and standard machine sewing) A little over 17.645 yards of fabric is included in this kit along with the pattern and foundation paper templates (additional copies will need to made of these pages). The pattern recommends 6 yards for your backing fabric assuming a standard 44/45″ width or 2-1/2 yards if using a 108″ backing along with a 79″ x 79″ piece of batting. Additional fabric could be needed if using a directional print or for pattern design matching. BACKING FABRIC AND BATTING ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THIS KIT. Additional Supplies listed on the pattern and not included in this kit: 8 yards 1/16″ or 1/8″ cording if you wish to make and add the cording trim accent next to your binding, Add-A-Quarter ruler, paper for foundation-piecing (copies will need to be made), fusible lightweight interfacing, fabric glue stick.
